Bimuno® is the result of an on-going research and development programme conducted in collaboration with the University of Reading’s Food Microbial Sciences Unit and other globally recognised research institutes and has been the subject of numerous human clinical and intervention trials investigating its health effects.
Bimuno® contains a mixture of special fibres called galacto-oligosaccharides (B-GOS). B-GOS has been clinically proven to naturally feed and stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the large intestine (gut). Why is Bimuno different?
Bimuno® is produced by converting the natural sugars in dairy milk into a unique carbohydrate complex (Galacto-oligosaccharides).
Unlike other molecules of its kind, the process used to produce Bimuno cleverly utilises enzymes derived from the friendly gut bacteria themselves - Bifidobacteria bifidum, the predominant bacteria in the gut of healthy infants. This produces targetted nutritition for the beneficial bacteria in the gut.
Studies have shown that with daily use, the majority of Bimuno users experience a significant increase in their gut bifidobacteria levels within just 7 days. By encouraging levels of friendly bacteria in the gut, there are less resources and space for so-called ‘bad’ bacteria to grow.
A positive bacterial balance in the gut is needed to help maintain a healthy immune system and general wellbeing.
Unlike many probiotics, Bimuno® reaches the lower gut intact for maximum nutritional impact. It is unaffected as it passes through the acid of the stomach, it is impervious to digestive enzymes as well as exposure to oxygen and heat.
