6 ways to outsmart those hunger hormones

Losing weight isn't justabout counting caloriesand exercising selfcontrol. The so-called 'hunger' hormones your bodyproduces - leptin, ghrelin and more - can have a big impact on weight loss, making it easier or harder to control portion sizes or resist that second biscuit.

Scientific understanding of how these hormones regulate appetite and weight is still in the early stages, but initial research has shown they can be affected by the type of food you eat, the fat levels in your body and the type of bacteria in your gut. There's also evidence that some types of food are better than others at helping you feel full and satisfied
