Bimuno TRAVELAID
The Clinical Challenge
UK travellers account for around 23.7 million trips per annum to countries linked with Travellers’ Diarrhoea (TD)1 and the percentage of UK travellers experiencing TD is reported at 30% to 50%2.
Symptoms include cramps, nausea, bloating in addition to diarrhoea, which as well as being distressing, can have a financial ‘cost’, eating into precious holiday or business time.
Moreover, in approximately 15% of TD cases travellers experience vomiting, and up to 10% have diarrhoea accompanied by fever or bloody stools, or both3.
More about Bimuno® TRAVELAID
Bimuno® TRAVELAID is specially formulated with the specific needs of holidaymakers and business travellers in mind. It is the only product that is clinically proven to help prevent Travellers’ Diarrhoea and to help reduce its duration6.
The Clinical Evidence
Prevention of Travellers’ Diarrhoea:
• 8 out of 10 subjects on Bimuno® had a diarrhoea free holiday6
• Of those with diarrhoea symptoms, the duration was half compared to placebo6
• The duration and intensity of abdominal pain was significantly reduced compared to placebo6
Prevention of Pathogenic G.I. bacteria colonisation:
• Bimuno strongly inhibited the attachment and colonisation of G.I. pathogens ~ enteropathogenic Escherichia coli4 and Salmonella Typhimurium4,5. These pathogens are linked to most of the confirmed cases of Travellers’ Diarrhoea.
